Urban Transversals
A year-long studio project sited on a semi-derelict 32,000m2 strip south of Canning Town Station, East London. After team-based context analysis, students devised their own brief, including densities, function of civic facility and typologies, working at all scales from furniture studies in the Live/Work Container, to 1:500 and 1:1000 urban strategies and then designing a civic building and detailed Live/Work building.
Nominated by Cambridge University Department of Architecture for entry in RIBA President's Medals 2004.
